Did you ever wish to make your event-presentations more attractive? Would you like to learn how to make a short movie from A to Z? Do you have some good ideas but you don't know how to combine them to make a great movie? Do you think that the technical aspects are a little too difficult to learn alone? If you answered "yes" to one (at least!) of these questions, then the mediaschool fits perfectly to you ! The plan: -4 days to learn everything you need to make some great short movies: how to manage a brainstorming in order to write a scenario and a script, how to film simply and use the external elements to increase the quality of the film, learn how to edit the film sequencies, how to cut them and put them together, how to make the transitions, the animations and at last how to manage the sound / music and eventually some special effects... Afterwards you'll just have to do it by yourself, you'll have all cards in your hands ! -4 days to discover the region of Frankfurt ("Rhein-Main Gebiet"): Darmstadt is indeed situated 30 km in the south of Frankfurt, there are also Mainz (30 km nord-west) and Heidelberg (60km south)... During these four days you'll have a great opportunity to discover the places around you... -4 nights to get the rythm of the agora: around a fire or in a club in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen they'll always be something nice to do during the night...

Vom 1.-5. Oktober werden auf Einladung von AEGEE (ASSOCIATION DES ETATS GENERAUX DES ETUDIANTS DE L‘EUROPE) 800 Studierende aus 40 Ländern nach Aachen kommen, um unter dem Motto „Visions for Europe“ über die Zukunft Europas zu diskutieren. Vorbereitet wurde dieser Kongress ein ganzes Jahr lang durch die ehrenamtliche Arbeit Aachener Studierender der lokalen Gruppe von AEGEE, dem größten interdisziplinären Studierendennetzwerk. Unterstützt wurden die Studierenden dabei von der RWTH, der Stadt Aachen, dem Polnischen Institut Düsseldorf und lokalen Firmen wie Drouven und Aixvox. Schirmherr ist, stellvertretend für das Europäische Parlament, dessen Präsident Hans-Gert Pöttering. Der Kongress ist gleichzeitig die europäische Mitgliederversammlung von AEGEE und soll die aktive Auseinandersetzung mit europäische Themen unter Studierenden fördern. Die Ideen, die während der Diskussionen und Workshops entstehen, sollen außerdem umgehend in konkrete Projekte umgesetzt werden. Inhaltlich liegt der Schwerpunkt der Veranstaltung bei den Themen Identität Europas, Europäische Bildungsgesellschaft, Globalisierung und nachhaltige Entwicklung. The older members amongst us will recall that in the old days, the European Boards’ Meeting was called the PM, the President Meeting. Now, since a couple of years, instead of just the President, all board members can join the meeting that is just in between the two Agoras. In 2008, the EBM will be hosted by AEGEE-Delft. We, of the committee of the EBM ’08, find it a real honor that we are chosen as the best local to organize the EBM this year! More about us can be found under “EBM ’08 Committee”. The EBM will take place mostly on the terrain of the Delft University of Technology. It will be from the 28th of February until the 2nd of March, 2008. Every AEGEE antenna has to send its delegates to at least two of the statutory events, as a sign of allegiance to the whole association AEGEE-Europe and it provides a direct way of contributing to the development of AEGEE. At the EBM, we will discuss several topics such as the Strategic Plan of AEGEE and the Financial Report, and there will be presentations of activity reports of the Comité Directeur and several Working Groups. Also during the weekend, there will be several workshops that you can attend and the results will also be presented.

Agora is the General Assembly of AEGEE and takes place twice a year. Around 600 AEGEE members from all over Europe gather to discuss proposals and projects, take decisions and set up the guidelines for the future programmes of AEGEE. The Spring AGORA 2008 is organised by AEGEE-Ljubljana.
